Around the Portland Oregon area that I could take my Sho-Bud Maverick to? It needs some work, and being new the steel guitar game, I am at a total loss as to what to do and where to go.

You can search the SGF Memberlist by location (upper right corner). Going by descending order, there are several Portland OR members on/around p.41. You can see who's posted frequently and going a little further, search what they've posted about. I see Dave Grafe and Eric West, whose posts I've seen frequently. Perhaps your SGF neighbors have some local intelligence. _________________ "Gopher, Everett?" |

Jim,
I'm sorry that I can't help you out with a reference to a steel tech, or even a shade tree mechanic in Portland.
But, I might suggest that you change your topic header to read something more like:
"Steel techs in Portland, Ore. area ??"
The right bait, will catch the right fish for you.

No problem. There are several really good techs up in PDX:
2 forumites you could contact:
Harley James (former Sierra Steel guitar builder)
Lynn Stafford (Emmons and Sho-Bud maven)
Both are excellent steel mechanics. |

Can't say enough good things about Lynn and Harley.... Both are terrific fellows.
Lynn just worked some magic on a couple of my guitars - flawless work! Highly recommended.

Jim and Matt see the events section for the Oregon/Washington jam and get your butts there.

There's also Tom Baker at Sierra in Molalla...not sure if he works on Sho-buds, but it's worth a try. Email sierrasteelguitars@earthlink.net |
