This is probrably an old album but I just downloaded a few songs off itunes.com from this album and it has some awesome steel playing on it. Sounds like good ole Paul Franklin. Correct me if I'm wrong.
This album is not all traditional country songs that so many of you play and it features a lot of Television theme songs. Very cool. Finally some steel playing something different besides Way to Survive and Danny Boy and stuff like that. Wish more stuff like this was available. |

Please correct me also if wrong but I don't think P.F. played on that.
If that is the same album I am thinking of, Robby Turner did 3 or 4 cuts, my buddy Mike fried did 1 or 2, several by Marty Rifkin, I think Gary Morse did 1 or 2, Chicken Hawk was on there and I think Kayton did Bells of St. Mary's?
And yes, great picking by all!

| John, you are exactly right. As I read the names and songs, I do not see Paul listed. These are some non-standard steel tunes but done extremely well. |

I got that one. Any one of several things is worth the purchase price. The cover art notwithstanding, just to hear Kayton Roberts' perfect harmonics solo...something of a lost art IMO.
The movie and TV themes are a welcome addition as well. Blue Danube Waltz on steel too.
Maybe not your father's steel guitar, but lots of interest for those of us who enjoy playing and hearing steel guitar music outside the proverbial box.
