Hi everyone, Here's a YouTube clip of me playing the black mica RAINS steel guitar I collected from Dallas.. George L E66 pick-up.. Sounds very nice I think! It's a bit tall for me as it's 1 inch over height and for Vic E, UK....When are you coming for it Vic? Buy a Rains, tell Gary Carpenter I sent you, then he will owe me the BIGGEST TEXAS STEAK EVER next year!! Seriously, I cannot fault these guitars in any way, I get asked many many times what amp do I use and what processors etc, but these Rains can just get a great tone plugged directly into any mixer or multitracker: and I am not on a sales bonus here or anything, I just like them very much.. I think I have another order for a Rains PSG next year Gary.. I will let you know the set-up soon.. Oh, my word! ..Thats a TRAIL DUST STEAK you owe me too Gary!

I have been asked to show how the Delay is set for the OBS (orange blossom special) of course, I will YouTube it tomorrow hopefully showing you all how it's done..Regards, David Hartley

David, you are the best product that the UK has ever produced. Your playing and arrangements could make any song a number 1 hit. .... In other words: "You blow me away".

Hey David,

I really enjoyed the Utube clip you played on your friend's guitar. Keep up the great playing and postings. I was wondering if you got a new guitar while you were in Dallas? I look forward to seeing you at a show in the future.

Sincerely,
Rev. David L. Young

Fantastic playing David. I don't know exactly what it is that makes Sarah Jory such a big name in steel guitar but it is definatley not the down to earth original steel guitar sound that I grew up listening to...David Hartley...you have Sarah Jory beat ten to one on the original down to earth pedal steel guitar sound and I really thank you for sharing your music with all of us .

Hi David,

This is my favorite song of all time, eversince it came out (the 2nd in line is "Tell it Like It Is", maybe you could do it one day).
Superb interpretation of yours.
I am very new to the steel, but I am addicted to the sound now.
How do you get such a clear live recorded sound.
When I videotape, the blowing noise is there all along. You can hear it in my 2nd steel video (I just did it and will be posting it after this). It's
"She Is Not You" - Elvis Presley. I would love to hear you do a skilled version of it.
I noticed that the blowing noise in your video stops when you push the button. Can you share how you do this ?.
I would love to get rid of the windy noise.
Could it be that you are playing back a recorded audio, as I see you sometimes doing a vibrato, but we
can' t hear it on the video.
I havn't mastered at all the recording techniques and would like to learn from all of you.
Superb performance on all accounts!

Best Regards,
Abel

Rolling Eyes Whoa! Laughing Very Happy Smile
David; What a fine job you are doing on this number; I'm a hundred per cent in agreement with John on your down to earth , country style of picking on your RAINS Guitar. I've given up on any U=Tube Clips of Sarah, since you arrived on the scene. I'm utilizing your three CD's to the Hilt; on my computer and Mp3 players. Wow, this version of " Save The Last Dance For Me " is one of your best, to date.. You do appear to be having the time of your life, sitting behind that RAINS . Thanks a Million, Dave. You definitely are an asset to The SGF..Bernie Laughing Whoa! Very Happy

David, a fine job again my friend. How many takes on this one? Probably one. Geez I envy you....

Bernie, your nice words to David are right on the money. He does a great job of promoting steel here on the SGF, on YouTube and to the whole world.

ABEL...
I record the music onto the DMT-8 multitracker as I record the video, THEN when I edit the video, I drag the audio .wav into the timeline of the video, sync, then delete the unwanted audio from the camcorder on the video editor..

BENT..
It's an old backing track of mine, I used to sing this one. I have NEVER played it before. I Never practiced it first either, BUT I did correct two mistakes on the multitracker before I edited the video. This was where I had to zoom in on the editor to my left hands as the replaced audio didn't sync with what my hand done the first time.. Thats because I never play the same thing twice, and thats why I would have great difficulty TABBING anything out as I just would have to sit and watch every note I played on every video.

GARY..
Is that a STEAK I can smell cooking?

Mighty fine, which bar was that, I saw the sparkle from the tip of it while you were playing.
Was it the Aurora stone or October stone?

That was some good playing David as always.
I know Flash liked it..also.

Hi David,

I was wondering if it were possible for you to share
the backing track of "Save the Last Dance For Me", or if I could download it from your website for a fee.
I would like to do a (strat) version of it.
Thank you.

Blessings,
Abel
