Hey Guys,
Some times when I'm playing the amp will suddenly get very bassy and later it will go back to normal with out me even touching it. Anyone had that happen? Thanks-- Mike

My new excel had a short in the pickup and caused the same effect. Might not be the amp.

Yes, try to isolate what is causing it, may not be the amp but a guitar cord, volume pedal, effects, steel as mentioned, etc.

Thanks Guys,
I'm not using any effects, just the reverb that is built into the amp & a Hilton pedal. The pickup is a very strong TrueTone. I'll change the cords, & check out the pickup. I thought that a pu either worked or didn't. Last nite the sound went bassy during the 1st 15 minutes of the gig and about 30 minutes later it went back to normal and sounded great the rest of the night.
Thanks again for the input. Mike

It could be voltage drop in the electric power in the club. That will really affect the tone of a transistor amp. When the power restores to 120 volts, your sound is back. Very common in clubs, if that is where you were playing.
