I got this amp about a 2 months ago, and I have been tring to understand my first true steel amp. The dial choices I am tring to understand are the presence, shift, depth, rate, and sensitivity. I am fimiliar with the others. I would love to get some info on how other steel players set their amp up, sort of like a default for a good starting place before they fine tune for the gig or session.

Hi Jett,I usually set the bass on 10 to try and make up for the small cabinet low end response,The depth, and rate are only for the tremolo,I set my treble, and presence at 12 O'clock as a starting point. To my ear the trick with that amp is in the mid and shift knob,If there is a mid frequency lacking in your guitar then I would try to find that rotating the mid knob, and boosting it in with the shift. If you have to much of a mid frequency find that with the mid knob and then cut the shift...I hope that helps a little.

Presence--3 to 4
Treble--3 to 4
Mid--4
Shift--10
Bass--10
Reverb--0, I prefer to use delay only.
I never use the tremolo, so Depth and Rate are 0.
Sensitivity--usually 5, if I need to set the volume higher then 5, I will raise the Sensitivity first, I always keep this set higher than the volume. These are the settings I use for guitars with single coil pickups. If it's a guitar with humbuckers, I will cut the bass some and increase the Presence and Treble.
