| You will note not one young buck or female was voted for on the forum. In todays radio its all the same sound there is no styles .You knew when any of the singers you voted for here on the forum came on the radio You could listen all day and know every singer and band without anyone saying their names.. Well i don`t buy any of that junk i have 300 C/Ds of the ones you voted for i like them all and all those old stars are the only stars for me. |

It's the quality classic singers that keeps us steelin'. These songs and singers are timeless, but too much of the "new" country will be a flash-in-the-pan, here today but forgotten tomorrow. |

I.m sure there is another Marty Robbins,Jim Reeves,Ray Price,Patsy Cline,etc out there,BUT they better be Handsome,Beautiful,and Hollyweird sexey if they want to make it,Just having musical talent don't cut it anymore.DYKBC.

What voting are you talking about? Don't get me wrong, I think I agree with what you're saying, it's just I don't know where all this voting is happening....sorry, I'm just confused.

Well one thing to consider.
The ones who we still listen to are
the pick of the litter.
Think how many 2 singles and down for the
count singers from those days there were,
and we no longer hear or think about.
Think about the low rent gigs for
original songwriters you played,
and where are they now...
Bargan bins loaded with un-bought copies
of loves labors, but we still think about the successes.
And many fell by the wayside because they were
just interchangable clones of the true originals
in the business. Never got their own style,
just copied X and Y but not as well.
Well amongst the drek we see today,
are likely a similar percentage of good acts.
Those will be heard later on in the same
oldies category as our memories are re-calling from.
And a likely same sized percentage will have
short shelf-life and go out with the unsold fish
in yesterdays newspaper.
