When using your LKL and the A pedal together, Whats the easiest way to perform that without moving the B pedal. I can do it with slippers on, but with boots, or shoes, I always seem to depress the B pedal some. I just rock my foot to the A pedal now. _________________ Sho-Bud LDG, Martin D28, Ome trilogy 5 string banjo, Ibanez 4-string bass, dobro, fiddle, and a tubal cain. Life Member of AFM local 142 |

Ronnie - Try adjusting your "A" pedal so that it's just a bit higher than the "B" pedal. That will reduce the amount of bending that is required of your ankle.

That was the trick for me... pedal height. It took a little tweaking to make it just right but it's worth the time. Now I can't play someones else's guitar! Guess everyone has that problem. |

Ronnie, this was a real problem for me. I ended up moving my LVL over a little and cut the corner off the inside of my A&B pedals about 1/4 inch.
Buddy Emmons use to do this from what I understand. _________________ Custom Rittenberry SD10

Ronnie it looks like you are playing a Sho~Bud L.D.G. if my eyes are clear . Are you sitting in the right place when you play ? I don't understand how you would be depressing the ''b'' pedal when you are using the lkl ? This a totaly different direction from depressing the ''b'' pedal ? I have owned an L.D.G and still own a Pro-ll Custom and have never had this problem at all . This is strange to me . Is there any way you can post a picture of your underside of your guitar ?It appears from the small picture that your knee levers aren't in the right place .

Hi Gary, I looked at the position of my LKL lever. I think I know what you mean about where the pedal is mounted. If it was mounted more to the left, I wouldnt have to bend my ankle as much. I just measured where it is mounted from the inside edge of the left side to the center of the lever. It is, 8 and 7/8ths inches. My left pedal is 3 and 7/8ths left of the LKL. I bought this LDG new so there was no modifications since it left Sho-Bud. It has 3 floors, and 4 knees. My LKL raises the 4th, and 8th string. All these years I figured out how to use that combo to get the major chord up 3 frets. Just a little slow for a senior. And thank you all for the replies. Keep picking good country music. _________________ Sho-Bud LDG, Martin D28, Ome trilogy 5 string banjo, Ibanez 4-string bass, dobro, fiddle, and a tubal cain. Life Member of AFM local 142 |

I always assumed everyone had their (A)-Pedal slightly higher than the (B)-Pedal, just for this very reason! On te other hand, you don't want your LKL too far away from you either. I have a bigger problem engaging my LKR with my (A)-Pedal depressed and not touching my (B)-Pedal! The only other reason I can come up with would be too much travel in either the (A) or (B) Pedal or both. _________________ <marquee> Go~Daddy~Go, (No), Go, It's your Break Time</marquee> L8R, jb

I like the LKL adjusted farther to the left so I have plenty of room to let the knee move to the left for the A pedal without being crowded by the lever. I would try adjusting the lever a little more toward the left and see if that don't help.

My situation is not what I call ‘normal’! As of recently, I have (2)-LKL's! I'm still getting used to that! _________________ <marquee> Go~Daddy~Go, (No), Go, It's your Break Time</marquee> L8R, jb

My change LKL and the ''A''pedal isn't any problem on my Sho~Bud Pro-ll Custom . All my knee levers seem to be in the right place for me . I have seen floor pedals that are up and down like a yo-yo but to me that looks like something is wrong with them . I like all my pedals even , it looks so much better and they work great for me this way ! |
