When I read the description, I had to scroll down and see this animal for myself. What is this plug?

Hi Ron , Ray Montee could give you more info but as I recall the Volu-Tone pckup had to be plugged into the amp to live 200 volts for a few seconds to charge & magnetize the pickups!! Was a dangerous operation !! You could get electrocuted !! If you left the pickup plugged in too long you burned out the wiring !! So this was a special plug and I imagine that only 2 plug prongs were needed to connect to play !! The other two were probably to connect to the live voltage !! It would be relatively simple to check the pickup by attaching two wires from the different prongs into an amp to see what plays the guitar. Guitar looks nice though!! Good luck !! Posted 22 Mar 2008 8:25 am Rick Aielo, would be the one to ask...........
I've seen those kind of plugs before and have no idea if one could change them out for the standard or not. I doubt it but..........I'm no electrician.
Rick Aielo would be the man to know.
On my 'new' Volu-Tone amp, there are three plug-in jacks on the back.
The technician explained that I needed to stay out of the first two, that they each put out over 200 volts or watts or ohms or whatever. The third jack is the one I use and it IS powerful to play thro'.
Sure love it! (The wife still isn't talking to me after that adventure!) |
