As Anne and I were leaving Sam's Club this afternoon, the gentleman that checks your merchandise against the receipt noticed my cap advertising a brand of steel guitar. He told me, that even though he didn't play, he had always loved the sound of steel guitar. So much so, he had been doing a lot of searching on the internet, and found a young lady from England that he had just fallen in love with her music. He said, "It's what Nashville SHOULD be doing"! I didn't expect to be getting into a conversation about Sarah Jory!!! |

Roger,A lot of people don't know that folks over seas know MORE about REAL country music than the homefolks here do,Remember one time I was playing at tootsies,a group of tourist from England came in,We were playing old style country,They were requesting Wynn Stewart,Tommy Collins,Earnest,Hank Sr.etc,Not ONE ask to hear Chesney,Big and Rich,Cowboy Troy etc,Makes you wonder don't it,Foreign fans are more hip to American country music than Americans are.DYKBC. _________________ Hard headed, opinionated old geezer. Foreign fans like to see it as
researching a historical niche within music.
So they do it big time.
Americans often think of it as
something from their parents past.
So just history and not worth worrying about. _________________ DLD, Chili farmer. Plus bananas and papaya too.
