Hello to everyone,
I just thought I would introduce myself as I am new here. I have been playing for 19 years starting with electric bass. Since then I have played or tried to play many things but lately I have only been able to end up with these things that have square necks, oh well life is tough! I have always gravitated toward that fretless and or slide sound, I even have a fretless 5 string banjo (cant even come close to playing it). I have been reading all of your posts for a while and thought I should finally sign up so I could chime in on a few things as well as post a few puzzles of my own. I have already learned a lot from you all. Thank you for that!!! Smile

Greg,

Thanks for the welcome!! I was wondering how long it would take on my location, but congratulations, you are correct!! OH and MI actually fought a war, so to speak , over Toledo. I think MI won because the ended up with the Upper Peninsula instead of Toledo. I like to say "Black Swamp" because that is what it was called before it all went to hell!! LOL

Welcome Jim. So sorry you guys lost the war but if the UP is what we won then it wasn't much of a victory. I always thought it should be part of Wisconsin Very Happy

Is it true that the Yupers call the other Michiganers trolls because they live below the bridge?

Thanks or all of the warm welcomes!!!!

Has it always seemed like there are a lot of us in this part of the world like within 200 miles of Detroit?

Del Ray Grace,

Whats up neighbor!! I checked out just a little of the sacredstrings and....wow! I can really get into that. Have you ever gone down to the American Legion Alexis Rd. on Thursdays for the bluegrass jam? There is a guy down there that can play some very serous psg. His name is Jess. You might know him. I have some old school recordings of him and some other local players you should hear some time.

PJ,

I will say hi to Jess for you, he brings his dobro in to the bluegrass jam, I can still somehow hear a PSG as he plays his dobro, he is great!
