Greetings ! Mr. Green

the French steel guitar community is having one of it's yearly steel get togethers on April 19 & 20 in Charlieu
Northwest of Lyon & due West of Macon (not Georgia)

This event has no cover charge & is open to the public

Saturday morning welcoming starts round 10:00
attendees will set up their gear, talk shop & trade secrets
before we know it, it will be lunchtime
as y'all can imagine, the intimacy of the French can be found round some good food & wine

14:00 to 18:00
Steel seminar w: Lionel Wendling
Resophonic seminar w: Thierry Loyer

19:00 aperitif & supper

21:00 : Steelin' evening w: sets presented by attending French & European steelers
to be followed by a jam session into the wee wee hours
attending so far : Jean Marc Bougaud, Tim Mercer, Jean Noel Achain, Patrick Laffrat, Fred Mabrut, Fulvio Lecca, Eddy Scheppers, Bernard Glorian, James Crowbear Schmitt, Lionel Wendling, Clement Cantin, Le Trung Tam, Eric Want, Joe Bernard, Thierry Loyer, Jean Michel Maillard, Tony Quedeville, Alain Gerard, Jean-Marie Raffault, Gerard Metrot, Thierry Hadorn & others

Sunday morning, things should get rollin' round 10:00 with psg tech shop, more steelin' seminary for those in need

12:00 Press conference & aperitifs offered by the town hall
13:00 Lunch

14:00 - last call for tunes & licks & jammin'
17:00 - debriefing : future of the steel guitar in France, projects, concerts, etc

Rates for meals & rooms are quite reasonable
Lodging will be provided to those having reserved beforehand
(contact me for those who have'nt contacted Eric)

this will be the 5th year that the French steel guitar community get together like this
we choose different regions from year to year
which makes for a nice way to discover France

the 2nd yearly French steel guitar rendez vous will be on August 17 in the Pyrenees

I do hope the "French Steel Rendez Vous in Charlieu April 19 &20" goes well and is a resounding !! success..

Unfortunately Pat and myself can't attend as it's Pats 65th birthday on the 24th and there is a party for her on the Wednesday 23rd.. The arrangements for which will take the prior weekend.

Plus I'm gigging the weekend with Bob Brolly. (although I would cancel that)

So hopefully we'll see you all at the Chanos-Curzon get together..which we DEFINITELY will attend..

Je serai en Angleterre du 21 mars jusqu'a 9 avril. Je visite mes amis en Angleterre chaque ans vers fevrier-avril. Si on allerais m'informer en avance de l'itinerie des rencontres de steel guitar, cela ferait possible de mon attendance.
Alors, il faut nous annoncier en avance pour nous attendre.
