Does anybody know a good western wear store in Dallas for boots, shirts, jackets and hats? I play in a classic country band and wanted to pick up some new duds while in Dallas for the convention. Any leads would be great. Thanks.

This is a thing I also would like to know. Need some new western shirts for the stage, the ones with the nice embroidery. They need to be black because...

And if someone knows a good boot store, my old Larry Mahan boots need to be replaced.

Thanks
Joerg

Last year I picked up a great Stetson over in the Fort Worth Stockyards before going to Pearl's to see Gary Carpenter play on saturday night. I'll be there again this year.

There are many good western wear stores in the Dallas/Ft Worth area..You will have to talk with some local pickers/fans to get exact locations..
Shepler's Western Wear, have two stores in the Dallas area..One is in Mesquite, just off LBJ Parkway, and the other one is in Arlington at Division Street and Hwy 360..Shepler's carry a good line of clothes, and a good selection..Also their prices are pretty good. They have many sale items, and their regular items, are priced so as not to break the bank...
They carry footwear, belts, shirts, slacks, jeans, hats ,jackets, suits, ties, jewlery, and just about anything in the western wear line...for men, women, and kids
Again, talk to some local people to get more detailed directions.
Good hunting and good luck..

If you guys are looking for "retro" shirts....lots of styles , lots of colors , lots of embroidery , it is impossible to beat an eBay store named hangMhigh. They have , beyond doubt , the largest selection. I wish I knew how to post their web but I'm still challenged. The best I can offer is to send you individually their contact info.

Beyond that ,if you're looking to physically go in to a store , you've been well advised...Shepler's just south of Six Flags is the place.

Great info, guys.....thanks. It looks like Sheplers might be the spot, or Lany's in the Stockyards.

Chris - You might have better luck going to Leddy's Ranch in Downtown Fort Worth don't get this mixed up with Leddy's Western Wear in the Stockyards although owned by the same folks. Their address is 410 Houston Street right smack downtown about 4 blocks from the Court House.

Leddy's Ranch is a high end Western Wear Store that has a large selection of mens and womens clothing, pretty high end though....
Here is the website I found for them you can also take a virtual tour of the store with this web site...Good luck...
www.360ftworth.com/Shopping/LeddysRanch.html

While your down there, there is an old family owned hat store about 5 blocks south (910 Houston Street) called Peters Brothers Hats their web site: www.petersbros.com these guys have been in business for close to 100 years just the walk inside the store will take you back at least that far...they still have all the old machinery they make hats with....Joe Peters can fix you up with any kind of hat you want....they even have the old bowler hat the kind that Big E wears...or they can custom make a nice cowboy hat for you.....I used to manage this store and when I worked there I talked my boss into allowing me to trade a hat for my first steel guitar...that's another story though.....

Sheplers, is like most Western Wear stores, bring lots of $$, most items are sold at "list" price. They have sale items but it's usually not what you are looking for.

A few years ago ,I visited a hat store, factory, in the Garland area..They had about any style, or material, straw, felt etc., a person would desire..They would measure you, select your hat stock, then shape it custom to your desires..
It has been several years, but it was near the recording studio that was owned and operated by Mr. Charlie Norris.
I do not remember the name, but it was a lerge store, factory, and had hundreds of selections, in all price ranges..
Mr. Norris, or maybe Junior Knight can give you info on this business..if it is still there..
