does anyone use this for 6 string if so does it work and how easy it to use my 606 is about had it i need something different and something easy to program thanks for any help

Mike,
I recently sold a POD XT and bracket combo to a steel player in Phoenix. He was going to be using it on a 6 string lap steel and a double 8 console of some brand. The POD is a powerful tool and can get a tremendous number of different sounds. And, it's not too difficult to program. I provide the PODs with over 20 presets already customized for lap and pedal steel players to save them the time, or effort, to start off with a good number of sounds they might like and can use right out of the box. |

thanks tommy im going to use it for6 string i have a fx2 for steel i usually like delay and reverb for steel mullen rp sd10 nv 1000 and nv112 will be using podxt with 52 tele and fender112 plus or stage 100 thanks again

I just moved from the POD XT to the POD X3 when it came out. The X3 is basically two XTs in one unit with all of the add on packs included.
I use the PODs for electric, fretless, tap, and lap steel guitars and I'm thrilled with them. Not only can you dial in some excellent models of classic amps, you can also sonically manipulate the signal 'til the cows come home. I think it is healthy for steel players to keep one foot in tradition and to step out of it, as well. The classic tone of a great instrument through a tube amp will never be replaced. I think of the power of the POD as "in addition to" rather than "instead of". With that said, I'm a big proponent of the POD for both live performance and recording work.
