I am pleased to announce that I have a brand new Hank William's Collection for the Six String Non Pedal Steel Guitar.
The tuning is C6th..
High to Low: E--C--A--G--E--C (C#)
You will note the (C#) above ...that simply means for a few of the songs you tune the six string a half tone higher. A good opportunity to try this if you have not already done so.
This Collection consists of Fourteen(14) of Hank's biggest hits instrumentally performed in traditional
style of the 1940's--50's.
All songs are done up with ClicTab and measured as to timing...plus a matching CD with my playing all the material.

Yes there is matching Tablature with the CD.
It is ClicTab, very clear and easy to read/follow.

That Guitar is right up there with my Carter
Joe. The pick-ups are not as "HOT" and I like
that for a change.

| Roy, have you tried Don Helms tuning (E6 I believe) on that Gibson? I've got it on the outside neck of my 53' Console Grande and it's a "high and lonesome" sound for sure. BTW, I emailed you about your course, I couldn't stand it no more... |

| Wow Roy, those are nice. I've had 2 Consolettes (still have one) - both came with gold painted wood fretboards. The ones on your instrument look like the same ones found on the Console model. Gibson must have used them on the Consolette until they ran out... |

Andy,
Yes I have used the E6 with the High G# and like
the sound also. However, more people use the 6 string
C6th. and that's why I chose it for the Course.
Don,
I am really not sure how long or when the fret boards
on mine were used by Gibson? They are nice and I
like them very much.

some thought and you never can tell. I was also

It looks like this book is written for 6 strings based on the tuning printed on the cover. How would you all recommend tuning a 10 string lap steel so I could buy this book? Second question, Roy, it looks like you are playing an 8 string guitar. Are you just not using two of the strings? Thanks,

Philip,
You are correct in that the course is written for
6 string lap steel.
It does not matter how many strings are on your
guitar so long as you have the following
strings tuned high to low:
E--C--A--G--E--C
It would be preferable to have those notes on
strings one through six. The Tablature would
work then as intended.
