I picked up a Maverick that I am working on and I need to get an Allen Wrench that fits the tuning screws. Does anyone know what size this should be.

That's a 9/64" hex.

Yes, it was. It was my first guitar and purchased new in November 1978. It had been in the display window of my local music store in Elgin IL. The guy who ordered it never picked it up and left the dealer high and dry. I got it in the case for $275.00 It has the narrow Fender-type pedals on the later-model Sho-Bud rack. It had wrinkle-finished painted black endplates and that ugly-looking brown burl vinyl covering on it. Over those winter months I decided to add 4 more KL's to it and make a new pulling system for it. While I had it apart, I pulled the vinyl off of it and polished the endplates after much sanding. I sanded down thru the factory-applied lacquer, used a very 'dry' walnut stain coat to highlight the 'eyes' in the maple, then used R-M automotive lacquer over that. I ordered a pro-model BMI in the spring of 1979, so when I rec'd it, the Maverick went into the case and stayed there until about 6 or 7 years ago. At that time I converted to the short Uni tuning and added a George L's 12-5 pickup wired in the full humbucking mode. Last fall I added the lock lever described in the "Hot Rod Maverick" thread. I was amazed that after all these years, only a couple of stops had to be tweaked a bit to get it in tune. I play it thru a Peavey Backstage Plus and a Boss RV-3 delay/reverb box. It sounds absolutely fantastic and I have now begun using the guitar on a regular basis again after almost 30 years.
