Here's mine! It was taken at the NCO Club in Wiley Barracks in Neu Ulm, Germany near the middle of 1959. The band was called "The Gashaus Ramblers".
 I'm the one sitting down with the blond archtop guitar. I weighed 90 lbs. less than I do now and had a lot less hair (especially on my back).....JH in Va.

About 1971, Bill Mack and the "Starliters"We were opening for Billy(Crash)Craddack(sp) Jeremiah Was a Bullfrog had just been released. Me with my almost new D12 MSA.

This is me rocking out somewhere in 1987. I know.....not that old, relatively. I was 16 years old at the time. This is one the earliest pics I have of me on stage, although I had been playing in bands for several years at the time. I thought I was friggin' Clapton back then.

1958 - and I fancied myself as Lonnie Donegan.
Here I am performing his 'Gamblin' Man' at our local Boy Scout concert; we were all members of the 10th Muswell Hill Troop, and I was a Patrol-Leader by then (as well as the band-leader; we didn't have a bass, so I opted for the ukulele - I didn't want to sink to the depths of having a tea-chest 'bass' like other skiffle groups of the day!)
My first pedal steel was many years in the future at this point, but I was very proud of that custom-finish Hofner President!
I want to add that the drummer was my brother, Peter. We positioned that Antoria amplifier (our only amp, incidentally) strategically in front of him so that his lack of a bass-drum wouldn't seem too obvious!
This is a poignant photo for me - Peter died unexpectedly at only fifty-two just a few years ago. He simply loved music, and was very supportive of all my musical ambitions.

Lee...Those coily cords were supposed to eliminate hum,etc,etc,don't remember if it worked or not..Fender Bandmaster(in the days of bigger is better)traded for a Fender Super reverb(silver),wish I still had the SR.

Matter of fact, I AM that young again.
It's going over better with some than with others, my last employer for an example of the latter.

Once upon a time I had hair.
The mandolin I had at the time is a Gbson A-2-Z from the 1920s or early 30's. I wish I still had it.
Here's me at age 5 or 6 watching mu cousin Lola, She still has that guitar.

These are both from 1966, different bands obviously.
The first one, I'm playing keyboards, hey was I one of the early pioneers of stacking double keyboards?
I don't even remember doing that.
In the 2nd pic I'm playing guitar with sunglasses on, even though we're playing in the basement.

Circa 1971 72 Think we played any Eagles songs? The guns are real and were all mine. I'm 2nd from the left. The band's name was Dirty Sneakers.

Here's a shot from the Swizzle Stik in Huntington Beach, Ca. around 1977 with fellow Forumite Stephen (Steve) Silver on his good old ZB, Vern Costner on bass, Monte Paul on drums, JoAnn Rinard on vocals, and a much slenderer me on Telecaster.....JH in Va.

I'm afraid I don't know!!! It was a President, but unlike any President I'd seen in the Hofner catalogue at the time. Here's another shot, this time of my previous Hofner President - this one was somewhat non-standard, too, with an unusual maroon sunburst (very subtle shading) and that fancy headstock inlay.
Back then I knew next to nothing about guitars, which, when I think what an obsession I have for the subject now, is surprising.
Sorry about the dress - I had a think about bow-ties, because my hero, Lonnie Donegan, always wore one. He always looked pretty cool in his, though...

Here I am a few short years later. This was in Liverpool's 'Cabaret Club' (just a few steps from 'The Cavern') and we were doing the 'warm up' for our singer, Eden Kane. It was 1964.
These were good times! Eden had a huge hit with a tune called 'Boys Cry' and he was even giving the Beatles a run for their money in the charts at the time. When this was taken Ringo Starr was watching - we'd all been at the roulette wheel together. We were doing quite well at that point, but we were betting ten-shilling notes on 'red' or 'black',and he was putting two hundred Pounds on the single numbers!!!
I was proud of that 1958 Gibson Super 400, though - it was the only one in Britain back then.

I can't see anything quite like my fancier President, although Detlev Goldau's collection has a couple of similarly-decorated arch-tops.
It seems that my other one (the maroon one) was far more 'standard', and the norm for an early-1950's President.
I'm lusting after a Committee from the '50s! It's probably more to do with the fact that I could never afford one for myself back then than any sensible reason. I bet I couldn't afford one now, either!
