Here is a clip of Lloyd Green playing San Antonio Rose. The camera work is excellent and I am proud to say that it looks like a British TV production from one of Mervyn Conn's Wembley shows. Lloyd was right on top of his game at this time. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=OI0go7kXOC8&feature=email Maybe Lloyd, with his incredible powers of memory recall can tell us what year this was.

Good close ups of his right hand and even his left foot.

He is a unique stylist with an instantly recognisable sound. Much imitated by many.

Thanks John. I was there too, but I couldn't remember the year. What was the singer's name with Culpepper? Someone asked me the other day and I couldn't remember it.

Thanks John. I played steel on one of the band's albums in the 70's. I remember Mr Christian wearing a dodgy syrup at the time, and not wanting to use headphones too much for some strange reason. Very Happy

Lloyd played really well at that show - I was impressed with how clean and bold his delivery was (and still is). Weldon Myrick once said that he would like to play as bold as Lloyd. Mervyn Conn brought just about all of the top acts over from the States at that time, and luckily it was all televised. They must be on video or DVD somewhere surely.

Ken, Colin did have a Irish jig, Once I stayed over at his home and did see Colin come out of the bathroom without it. He was a nice guy though as were the rest of the band.
The night I left the band to join Barbary Coast
Colin cried his eyes out... They packed it in not long after that..

Walter Stettner has an MP3 of the audio of this show on the lloydgreentribute.com website. It's under "soundclips". Lloyd plays this and six other songs: Steel Guitar Rag, Blue Eyes Crying In the Rain, Danny Boy, Cold, Cold Heart, Bud's Bounce, and Secret Love. It's fantastic--well, it's Lloyd!

Funny, I could always tell when I'm hearing LG play...his style is so distinctive but not in this one....he seems to have taken on a speed picking persona that is somewhat different than his usual style and tone.
Superb in every respect...thanks for posting it.
