What's wrong with this guy? Doesn't he know that that kind of music can't be played on a pedal steel guitar? _________________ Please visit my web site and Soundcloud page and listen to the music posted there.

I'm sorry, but I just love this guy. Growing up around Austin when blues was it I think this is great. Wish I could play like that on the steel! _________________ 76 Emmons Push Pull, Williams 600, ShoBud Pro I, MSA Classic, Remington SteelMaster dbl 8, MSA Super Slide dbl 8, Gold Tone 6, And other instruments and equipment I can't afford. |

I don't really think you need pedals to play that kind of stuff. It is, however, the type of music that might appeal to a younger player. I think that if there were more players playing that kind of music, there'd be more younger people wanting to play steel. |

I`m country to the core. But I like this stuff too. If we want the steel to grow as a instrument we need more styles like this . Just my opinion. |

Well, I don't know about that tone but his sustain is "top drawer".
My name is Rick Nicklas and I approve of this message.

It was the whole tone scale going into the augmented thirteenth chord that got me at bar #11, and then how it resolved into the diotonicblasphamy scale on bar 26. But I 'spose this is the direction music is going with steel now, it has with every other instrument. And then we have Rap, who am I to say "Fitty Cent" doen't play as well as Sogovia. |

When the opening credits listed "steel pedal guitar," my knee-jerk reaction was to bail, but I stayed 'till the end, and I kinda liked it ..... |

Guess I'm too square, just too old, well, I gotta go now Lawrence Welk is coming on TV kinescope and I love it when he turns on that bubble machine! (I hear they have color TV now?)
It's not tone any more, it's VOLUME! I love sawtooth sinewaves!

Makes me even more glad that George Edwards was stright up enough to tell me early on, first time he heard me play, to quit using gimmicks and let the steel sound like it's suppose to. Seems to make it even more important all the time. Matter of fact, he followed that up with a letter to make sure I did..
Ya know, it's not easy going up behind someone like him when you've only been playing but a very, very short time..
Well, back to the "Honey Mooners" with a little of "Amos & Andy" thrown in for good measure.

I enjoy that syle of playing, I guess it's what you might call blues rock, more on the PSG than I do on regular 6 string. It's like heavey metal lead guitar with the string bends more in tune. |
