There's this extended upward progression Paul Franklin plays in this very cool YouTube video of him playing with Dire Straits: http://youtube.com/watch?v=W6lIB3mmDH8 that starts at 0:09 and ends around 0:11. I have heard this progression in lots of other songs and would love to figure out. In the video, he is sliding between what looks like frets 5 and 7 but it happens so fast I can't see what his right hand is playing, and of course, there's no way to know what his feet and knees are doing. Confused

Can anyone explain this or even throw out some rough tab for it?

Cheers!

Hey Joe,

Check this tab out from a previous posting. I believe the part you are refering to starts towards the two thirds mark of the second line of tab.

Hi Ryan,

Wow! This wonderful forum never ceases to amaze me! I am going to give that tab a try and see what I can make of it.

Thanks very much!
