Hey, I just had the opportunity to see both Dale and Ricky this past Sunday at the Turf Club in St. Paul, MN. Great two hour show, and they all stayed around to talk to the folks and sign autographs.
As usual, the show was great and both Dale and Ricky, as well as Billy D, and Scott Matthews, were in fine form. The audience was slow in responding to Dale and the band, but after just a few coaxes by Dale, they all joined in with requests for Dale to sing.
Ricky was awesome as always, and they had a long trip back to Austin that night. I bet they didn't hit the road until about 3:00 AM.
I got there early, about 1 1/2 hours before the doors opened, knowing that the crowd would be large, and it is a small club, and got front row seats. As it turned out, my wife and I sat in chairs right up at the edege of the stage. We did this, because of the fear of people standing in front of us, as well as the dancers that naturally got caught up in the music. We had great seats, and didn't have to worry about anyone in front of us, except Dale and Ricky and the rest of the band.
Great night, and I hope you enjoy your show when you see them this Saturday. Tell them that Dennis from St. Paul, says Hi, and will see them in June in Colorado.

Yes Jim I will be saving you a seat.
I know there must be others of you that don't have gigs Saturday, that can come out and show your support for Dale & Ricky, if you like real country music you will not be disappointed. Not to leave out Billy Dee and Scott, they do a fine job also.
Okay, What can I say I like these guys!

I thoroughly enjoyed the show last night! I even stayed for the entire four hour gig, which is unusual for me. Dale is a great singer, picker, and front man. Ricky played all the right hot licks, and was very cool in the way he played.
My only regret for them is that the place wasn't packed wall-to-wall. For me, it made for a more relaxed atmosphere as I didn't have to worry about people stumbling all over each other.
Dale and Ricky have great chemistry with each other, playing super twin licks all night long. Whenever they come to your area, this is show not to be missed! |

Well thanks everyone for the support and very kind words. Peggy it was mighty nice of you and Sharon to help promote our show.
Country music is dead; or at least half dead....as it does not draw the big crowds. It is still fun and very enjoyable to play for the folks that do show up.
Jim it was Mighty nice of you to come out and I am very glad you enjoyed what we do; and that my friend, makes it worth while and you are a true supporter of real country music.
I have only one day a week I do not play music; and guess where I'll be???? Yes you got it......SUPPORTING country music by attending and tipping and buying at Justin Trevino's show at Ginny's little Longhorn on Burnet rd. in Austin, Tx. With the great Jim Loessberg on Steel and Scott Moon on fiddle all happening on Tuesday night.
What are the rest of you doing to support this dieing art???? Well get off your lazy asses and get out there and do it instead of complaining about it not being around; as it IS......it's in your stores/online; it's on your radio stations....clear channels/internet what ever....and it's in your town somewhere......and if it ain't live in your town......well; create/re-create it.......Ok; I'm off my rant now.....so GET GOING!!!! Or you can just go ahead and bury the thing 6 feet under, and be done with it.
