I read a post in "Stories" about George Jones and " He Stopped Loving Her Today" You wrote that you played the Harp on this song. Please excuse me if I have mispelled your name and tell me how a harp is tuned. Also what parts of the song are the harp heard? _________________ "Oh what a tangled web we weave when we first begin to deceive" Someone Famous |

Thanks John. What type of music is played in England? I know you don't constantly play our versions of country music _________________ "Oh what a tangled web we weave when we first begin to deceive" Someone Famous |

Robert, while I haven't sifted through all of John's replies to your question for me...
Harp is one of the many short names for harmonica. The harmonica part in the second verse of "He Stopped Loving Her Today" was played on the recording by Charlie McCoy; when we did the song live, I played it. As far as tuning goes, the common technique is called "cross harp," where you play in a different key than the harp is in. You use the inhale chord (the draw chord) as the root or 1 chord instead of the exhale chord. That's where "da blues" is... _________________ Mikey D... H.S.P.

I was born and raised in Alabama. Certainly nothing wrong with the people from there. John, you have some kind of problem with people from Alabama or something? |

Yes this is true. However thanks Michael, I was serious and I appreciate your reply. I was thinking Angle Harp. How silly of me. I think it must have something to do with the quality of the talent I have seen on the forum. Yes John, I am from Alabama and I am proud to be from Alabama. For the most of my life I have been sourounded by a courteous, gentile, friendly, caring people trying to care the best they could for their familes. We have been at times led down the wrong path by our leaders and as in the rest of the nation apathy and pride have been partners with those who would use us for political gain. I enjoy your comments on the forum and enjoyed your replies to my question to Michael. Thanks for the videos. I am sure as with all the people in my life, if I can get you to respond in a reasonable, responsible, respectable manner, I can learn from you. That is my challenge to get this reasonable, responsible, respect from you. Thanks _________________ "Oh what a tangled web we weave when we first begin to deceive" Someone Famous |

I don't remeber every replying to any of your post in any disrespectable manner, If at all. If you have read some of my previous post that has offended you, I am sorry. If I ever reply to you in a disrectable manner please show me the respect of contacting me in public or in private and I will respectly reply to your issue. This is a request I make of everyone. Now John, I believe BOB is the official forum police and if he has seen me out of line he has had ample opportunity to correct or suspend me, he hasn't. Who is your partner Lem? I await his expression of concern. B0B you have my permission and desire to suspend my privilages if you so desire. I have no desire to be where I am not wanted. Good Day John and forget you ever heard from me _________________ "Oh what a tangled web we weave when we first begin to deceive" Someone Famous |

Robert, no problem at all.
Now, to kind of get back on topic, Mikey D. I really enjoyed your playing on the Tammy Wynette live in concert video. You sounded good on both that blue Franklin, as well as the harmonica! |
