Me & the log for sure and 50 other locals from my home town. That just leaves the mayor holding the fort.

Dean Nealey just called me from South Carolina and said he was flying up to Winnepeg on Thursday.
This is his first attendance at this Convention and he is looking forward to it.
A nicer man just ain't out there and he has
a deep rooted love for steel guitar.
He grew up with Bobby Garrett and was and still is an avid fan of his playing. He also loves the Jerry Byrd, western swing, Hank Thompson stylings etc etc.
Treat him good.

And "Dusty Picks" Ron Halderson will be there. That's worth the admission fee.

Vernon
We got Dean & he's all in one piece. He enjoyed himself last nite. He sat with our party and we got a chance to jaw a bit, and you are right, he is a very kind gentleman.
Dean & George bedded down early last nite because of the lengthy travel. They'll be bright and bushy tailed this afternoon.

I'll be seeing him in a couple of hours for the Sat afternoon jam. I'll tell him you called.

Joe

The show was a blast. The best & biggest to date. More steelers coming out of the woodwork every year. The Sat jam gave new steelers a chance to play on stage with some of the top musicians in the trade as well as jamming with the "old dogs".

Pics will be posted by Don Walters later.

I enjoyed the show tremendously. It's a great pleasure to meet pals from the forum like groovy Joe Delaronde & swingin' Don Walters!

Then to hear some of the best steel guitarists in the world like that slick Al Brisco & the 'godfather of swing'- Billy Jones- it was almost too much!

Joe sounded pretty good with his 'log-steel' & it was nice to make new friends like Dean Neely all the way from South Carolina- sublime!

Wayne, when I got home I asked my wife the same question Billy asked Lori, all she said was "at least you can cook".

I should have offered that lady who won the pack-a-seat, $50 instead of $10. It was sure nice of her to re-enter it for another draw, but I still didn't win.
Great to meet you folks.
