I wanted to take a minute and say what a nice evening Mickey and I had getting to meet and talk steel guitars and flying for a few hours Saturday night.

Saturday night I stopped by to look at his Mullen G2 and it is a nice guitar. It plays and looks good with solid mechanics a pleasing tone.Mickey showed me a couple of tunes he's working on and I feel everyone will really enjoy them when they are finished.

I think you've all seen his other guitars in his Youtube videos and they are sweet.

Later we drove out to the Silver Saloon in Terrell TX where Joan Cox is working with a band I worked with for a little over two years.

We walked in and the band was in the middle of a tune and Joan was sounding good on her ZUM. As usual though, the steel was down in the mix but we could still hear her though we had to really pay attention.

We went backstage where Mickey got to meet the guys and between talking steels and flying we had a great evening.

After talking with him at length I feel he's found a place he can call home and enjoy getting to meet many new friends as well as have many places to play unlike Las Vegas which had little to offer him.

I'm personally glad to have met a new friend and I think anyone who meets him will agree he has the uncanny ability to make you feel you've known him a long time.

I wish him much good luck in his new career both flying and teaching steel guitar.

Welcome to Texas my friend.
