For that open date on the 7th, it seems like Cincinnati would be right on the route. How about "Hamilton Music Theater" in Hamilton, OH?

Henry...don't know when Dale is back in Holland...maybe this summer..check the tour schedule as it gets closer.
Tony; we love barbeque....but too many Cities not enough time.
Fred; it will be good to see you there pal.
Ron; I got that idea in the works my friend; thanks for the heads up.
Allen; we've only played Denver before and didn't go all that good...so don't know when we may come that way again...there is a new booking agency working with Dale, so they may have some better venues.
Bob; e-mail me or check the tour schedule a week before you get here; and we'll see you at the gig man...sounds great.
Norm; busy is in the eye of the beholder...ah...ha. I also play on the Texas Professional Golf Tour on the side....yee haaw....so I can't tell you my schedule as it would give anyone a head rush just hearing it. I did take off that whole weekend just so I can make the Dallas show....and I'd love to be on the program....but I don't remember seeing a ShoBud being played through a Fender twin up there....that might just freak too many folks out....ah.....ha.
See ya'll down the road...Oh I'm in Little Rock right now....first day....

If Ricky and Dale are in your area, try to get out to see them. It will be worth your trip.

Hey Ricky,
Who's that guy in the pictures playing Steel with Dale at Ginny's from Feb 3rd 2000? He has a beard, blue shirt on with white cowboy hat. Looks like your Sho-Bud guitar, but it don't look like you. NR

After 3 years of collaborating on a web site, I finally met my "little brother" in person on Saturday night. My wife and I drove to Cleveland to catch Dale Watson and the Lonestars and in a word, they were "great"!!
Well worth the 6 hour drive thru the blizzard we ran into between Cleveland and Erie Pa.
Ricky is one fine steel player and he and Dale almost seem to be joined at the hip, they are so in tune to one another. They played a great mix of music and had the crowd wrapped around their fingers, as their 3 encores proved.
All in all, we had a great weekend and met some real nice people. Thanks, guys!!
If you get a chance to catch their show, do it. You won't be disappointed!!

Thanks for the heads up, Ricky. I hope to see you at the Turf Club. (p.s., It is in St. Paul, not Minneapolis- great little place though- kind of like Lee's except on the other side of the river).

I managed to get to see them at the Bloomington show this week. I really enjoyed it. It is just good country music played the way it ought to be. They are a really tight group. Dale sings great and so does Billy Dee. It's really a shame singers like this don't get the recogition they deserve. Ricky is a great asset also. I enjoyed his playing as well as some of the arrangements they used. |
