howdy, ive just re rodded and changed the copedant, on a pro 1 3-4 [a newly aquired steel] the raises and lowers, on the eight string dont work, the fingers move as though lowering and raising, but the top, the chromed roller , that the string sits on doesn,t move,? whats up, any ideas, lew.

howdy, just shows you how somthin simple can baffle you, just found the cure, the end of the string had slipped between the changer and the housing, dah,?, my appoligies for being green on these things, thanks, any way, lew.

That might be the most common solution to various kind of puzzling changer behaviour. You're not the first or last to encounter it.
