Anyone have a few they'd part with? I have been trying to learn to use metal ones for over 2 years but can't stand the sound. Can't find any here in ATL. I really like the Dobro brand clear ones but as long as they aren't too thin I'll take what I can get. I have big fingers, BTW. |

Bobbe doesn't carry them at all, talked to Dan yesterday. The Dunlops are all too small, even heating them up is not useful as they get too much open area at the split, making them fall off. I was hoping someone had started making good ones, like those big thumbpicks that have been out for a couple of years. No luck I guess. |

Still no luck, I'll give it one more go. The Dobro branded clear ones are the right size, if anyone has any. |

Well, I got the Fred Kelly picks today. I really dislike them; if you wear them with the picking surface on the pad of your finger they are way too far forward and unnatural. If you wear them like an alaska pick they don't stay secure on your finger. I got Jim's Dobro picks and LOVE them. Especially the thumbpick, which has a sharp point and snaps the strings really well. If anyone wants to try the Kelly's, I'll sell 'em cheap; they seem to be well suited to banjo frailing but not individual note picking. |
