We have here a near mint D-10 "The Professional" D-10 pedal steel guitar It is loaded with 8X6. This is one of those "rare finds" to be sure. Looks like someone brought this home (a long time ago) and put it in the case, then slid it under the bed for a long time. It has no bar dents, and the finish is totally awesome. The sustain will "knock you out". It is absolutely a beautiful guitar. The first $4500.00 plus shipping from Riverside, California, will have one great steel guitar.

Really pretty!
Could you post a couple more close up underside pics? It looks like there are MSA style bellcranks on there, and I'm pretty sure that the changer fingers are from a later era 'Bud. The pedals have been shaved down.... which is a hallmark of Duane Marrs rebuilds.... looks like nice work. |

The fretboards are newer also as are the pull rod ends. For the better I believe since didn't the ones for that vintage have the pot metal ends on them? All in all it's still a super guitar and if Duane did rebuild it that would give it some value for me. |

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see what the purpose of the aluminium plate along the rear apron is for. No Pedal or lever crossshafts seem to be attached to it or behind it.....and what's with the screws and tabs along it's bottom edge?
Also the finish seems different....more urethane-like.

Very beautiful and interesting guitar. What are the holes through the front legs for? |

Mr. Thompson:
That's a fair question, but I don't know the answer for sure, but I think the owner at one time or another had some type of music stand (can you imagin?) that was somehow attatched to the Bud...

Mr. Glassman:
Another fair question to be sure.. Those three screws in back don't really do anything special, and are really a snap to remove. if it bothers you. However the tone is NOT in any manner inhibited by them. The tone of this Bud will give a dead man goose bumps...

Thx for answering........but, can you post more pix, especially undercarriage and rear apron close-ups?
Is that the original finish or re-fin?
All-in-all......it is an exceptional looking Sho-Bud |

I think it's a re-fin and a complete rebuild. Lovely guitar though! |

Mr. Glassman..
I might be able to post a few more shots of what you want.. This axe, plus those two Willies, and that Fender D-8 and all those amps that I have on the forum currently belongs to a friend of mine (non-forumite) that bought all these goodies at an estate sale, so I don't know alot of history on them. I know alittle history on some of them however. The Bud here, I don't know very much about other that is one fine looking & sounding guitar. I could tell that it was not original a couple of minutes after I looked at it. About being refinished, I'm not really sure, but I know that it is in extremely good shape, refinished, or not refinished. The guitar is not at my house, and it would be a few days before I could add more pics.

Looks like a Marrs rebuild. Still, $4500 is over the top.
The tuning nuts extend past the end plate, not good for loading into the case. One red floor pedal? |

Chris..
Why don't you just motor out to Norco, California and take a real good look at it? You are about an hour drive time away. E-mail me off forum, and I'll give you the address of where you can see it anytime before 6:00 PM during the week, and pretty much all day Saturdays.

Not to worry..... the tuners don't extend past the coil-tap switches, which are still intact. Anyway ,my Sho-Bud Pro-II case is blocked at the front and back of the changer endplate so that it can accommodate not only the hex tuners but the neck selector toggle as well.
Harley.....drop the Mr. Glassman thing. It makes me feeling like I'm being asked to "step outside of the car and show your driver's license".....The name is Tony. |

YES, it does have one red pedal... I painted it so YOU would ask about it.
