How does the Peavey Nashville 112 shack up against the Fender Steel King? Peavey Nashville 400 against Fender Steel King?

Peavey = Made in USA.

Fender= Who knows..

112 vs FSK. Kind of like comparing a reliable half ton pickup to a 1 ton truck that might blow up.

Nashville 400 has proved up, is Made in the USA, and there's no contest.

If you want to buy an amp that you will need to count on from the day you buy it, buy a Nashville 400. (Of course it would be either used or NOS.) Now it's the Nashville 1000.

I haven't heard of any special processors or speakers that make the FSK "sound better". Maybe the reverb, but less and less of us use amp reverb anymore.

All JMHO. Look up the info on the 112 and 1000. Also the "Artist Endorsements".

The Fender Steel King website info is there too. Minus the "artist endorsements".

Helpful?

I have both. The speaker in my steel king sounded thin to me. It blew out. I am going to replace it with a BW.

The steel king will play large venues, the 112 needs to be miced up or ran through the board to be heard in a large noisy room.

I like the 112 tone better, But I also feel the steel king had really good tone with a Goodrich steel driver in the chain, but I seemed to lose my lows when I had the highs set where I like them. On my 112 I get everything dialed in good.

Steel king = 200 watts

112 = 80 watts

Steel king weighs a lot more than the 112,

Peavey service seems to be real good, Fender in my opinion is down the drain these days. That is why I am not even going to bother warrantying the sk speaker.

Bottom line, If I had my druthers I would get 2 112s with the Ken Fox mods, or one 112 and one 400.

this is just my to my tastes tho,, a lot of people love the steel king.
