I just got my copy of the HOT CLUB OF AMERICA CD. WOW!!! Just wanted to encourage those of you on the Forum who don't have a copy of this historic CD to get it. You can order it from Jody's website (http://jodycarver.com/HCOA.html) or from right here on the Forum, if I'm not mistaken. You'll be doing yourself a favor and also help out one of our living legends and SGHOF member Jody Carver!

HCOA is definitely a classic album, one of a kind.
Jody has used all the profits from sales of this wonderful CD to buy HCOA guitarist Johnny Cucci (1919 - 1986) a new headstone - to replace the original one which was stolen.
All expenses have been satisfied with the proceeds from HCOA and Johnny Cucci rests in City Island NY. _________________

Rick,
Thank you so much for pointing this out. I wanted to edit my post to mention Johnny's headstone but unfortunately I waited too long and the edit option was gone.

If you want to see something interesting, just play something off the HCOA Cd for one of the young whippersnapper guitar players that know little more than power chords and distortion.
I did for a student of mine, and he asked more questions about those recordings in one hour, than he did about rock guitar for the last 6 months.
Spread the word. You never know who you'll accidentally educate!
Thanks again to Jody and Johnny!

James. thank you
Rick...thank you
Andy...thank you
Luke...thank you
I know that Johnny would be proud to know that his music lives on..It is he who deserves most of the credit..I have learned much from him and Augie and George..I know if they were here they would be thrilled..and to Dave Van Allen and Mike Gross and Rick Alexander for the great website..I thank all of you. Here is something that my California friend sent to me..Richard Smith..the author of Fender The Sound Heard Round The World..I've emailed this to Dave Van Allen and Dave had something special to say about the Hot Club Of America..Only Dave can reiterate what his comments were..ooops had to edit again. sorry bout that..Dave Van Allen is the reason for whatever recognition we've received...Thank you Dave..

I'm a not-so-young whippersnapper who knows little more than power chords who just received this CD (plus the Vanduras, but that's another topic) from b0b on Saturday. Hot jazz is mind-blowing enough for 3-chords-and-a-prayer types such as myself. Hot jazz with a steel is sheer craziness!
I like that there are some familiar tunes--the HCOA interpretations really illustrate their virtuosity.
Nice going,
Vince |

Oh I sure do! (that's me on the fiddle, folks) Peter, so good to see you. I'll never forget that show with you and Country Life with the great Tommy Collins in Findland! I speak to Henry every now and then via E-mail. Tell him I said hello!
