I just worked out this blues lick on my lap steel--reminds me of Canned Heat or ZZ Top. The 3-4 C chord is a reverse slant. Sounds good with lots of overdrive. What do you think of it?

I printed and tried your blues lick Reverse slants took a little practice sounds good on my fender tweed
morrell 8 string set up with heavy overdrive and added a little flanger
