I need a single Kluson tuner for an early 60's stringmaster 8. If I find one, then I would need to know how to remove the pressed on gear from the shaft. I guess best case scenario would be to find the whole bank of 4 complete keys so I would not have to deal with replacing one bad one.
Any help here would be much appreciated.

If you search my posts, I wrote about fixing one, probably in no peddlers. I carefully pried the button off and used the shaft from another old Kluson. Let me know if you need more info.

I belive that a Fender 800 or 1000 tuner assembly is the same as the Stringmaster and would work as a replacement. I can't see how anyone could effectivly repair one of these. A regular Kluson tuner shaft is a lot different from a steel guitar tunner shaft. Why in the world can't Fender Japan cut loose some of these new re-issue Single 8 pans to repair old USA guitars??!!
