| Greg, that is a nice lookin' lap steel outfit. The bridge cover looks identical to a bridge cover on a 70's style Fender Jazz Bass,but without the "F" indentation. Is the body mohogany? |

Hey Greg,
Thanks for starting to post lap steel tabs! Kansas City Blues is a fun one. I look forward to more of your great tabs!
I noticed a strap button in your pictures of the Rondo. Can it be played standing up dobro style? The body looks to narrow for that.

According to Rondo's site it is Mahogany. And only $100! Might be worth picking one up 
The case looks pretty good too.

Ali,
I got a bunch of non pedal tabs for this! Of course they could be played on a regular pedal steel also. I've started to leave my bottom string at C# all the time and the next tab I'll post shows how cool this is.
At 6 pounds I'm not sure one could stand to have this guitar hanging off their shoulders for very long! I think someone could route a few pounds of wood off of this.

Dave,
I'll put the E9th tab on my long term list for when my work slows down again. The non pedal tabs do take a lot less time because I can sit right in front of my computer with the steel while I listen and write out the tab.
Thanks for the nice comments Brian and Jim. Playing the lap steel is new to me but it's very satisfying to play without all the pedals at times. My first steel guitar was a Carvin 8 string lap steel and I gave up on it for lack of knowledge.

| Thanks, Greg - this is a great boon to us newcomers to the steel, as others have noted. I'm an old coot who's trying to pick up where I left off on the steel a half-century ago and it ain't easy. Some of the few tabs available for 6 string lap steel are almost as confusing as trying to play off sheet music. Keep the good stuff coming, we neophytes appreciate you. Thanks again, Dave |
