use a Fender Dual Professional in a Alt. Country/Rock type band.

What tunings would lend themselves to that type of thing and what would be a good way to learn the scales within those tunings.

By the way I'm a guitar/bass player/drummer so I know quite a bit of theory but steel just baffles me.

Hi, Dustin - I'm playing in an alt-country/Americana band using a Gsus4 tuning (basically open G, but I added a C for the high string and dropped the low B).

With a double neck, I'd say open G (for country blues sounding stuff) and open D or E for Chicago/delta blues and rock (David Lindley prefers the open D intervals).
