Basil

I never came across anybody in the UK who used the # (hash symbol) before a serial number in the 70's, this was only ever done in the USA and whilst I'm not a Grapholgist I have worked with enough Americans and not all of them were musicians who have all had such a similar style to the writing on the card, that does not mean to say people here in the UK don't write like it, but the whole point of my advert was to see if I could find my old guitar, now if you could be of assistance in helping me in my search I would appreciate it.

Regards

Eddie

Eddie, I'm sure that the higher the profile the more likely it is that you'll find the guitar.

Eddie, you say it was a "Loafer" presumably you mean a single neck on a double body, referred to nowadays as an SD-10 (SINGLE neck DOUBLE body 10 string)

I have two D-10s both 1970 models and still play them , and I've followed Emmons guitars since, and can honestly say I've never heard of the designation ST-10. My theory would be that failing it being correct(Which it MAY be) I can only surmise that a salesperson in the shop (Maybe on the 'phone) misheard SD-10 as ST-10 and filled in the card as such..

If indeed there is no such model, the card could be worth more than the guitar you're looking for !!

Just so people reading THIS topic don't know what you're talking about when you refer to your search for your guitar, (as it IS partially 'Off Topic' in THIS instance)
here is the link to YOUR post ;-

Eddie, when you mentioned "Grapholgist" sp. (Graphologist)
I started to look more closely at the writing itself. Have you noticed the disparity between the initial ST and the ST after the serial number? The one 'S' has loops, and the two 't's are quite different.

The "Thot Plickens"

Thanks to all for your comments,

I know I had the guitar, I've still got the card, bogus # or not as Bob says, hey I didn't fill the card in. I would not have even known where to look for the number on the guitar, but if anybody is watching or knows where it is please let me know, there can't be that many of them in the UK

I would guess they meant for the "ST" to stand for single ten. Who knows!

That is exactely the way the warrentee registration card left the factory, I have seen hundreds of them as a dealer. This was a 60's card I'd say. Possibly an early '70s. A single neck according to the number. Looks like Fred Trogden's writing.

I have a 1978 I guess "Loafer". I have the order blank with the tuning chart and the upper half of the warrany card, the envolope that it all came in says, ST-10 s/n 2446. For all the Minnesota people here, it was bought at Pedal Steel Emporium on W Lake St, Mpls on 4-26-78. I bought it used.

Marlen, of course is not an Emmons, but they did call there student model an ST-10, I have a 1970 here, it looks much like there standard S-10 but has no adjustable legs, same mica, neck pickups [which died on me and I replaced it with a Barcus Berry, which made it sound even better. This of course does not answer the Emmons question, just a thought!!

You can make out the ST on the serial #

Hi there everyone

Good news and Bad news.

Here is the Good News. I managed to track down the person who had bought the Emmons he lives about 50 miles away, as soon as he saw me he knew who I was and can remember buying the Emmons.

The Bad news.He was sorry to tell me it was burnt to toast and melted metal in a house fire.

Well at least I got a conclusive result even if it was not the one I wanted, I want to thank everyone for their input

Regards

Eddie
