If I was pinned down to choose my all time favourite track of Lloyd's out of the vast amount of instrumental recordings he had made, it would be a very hard choice between Hogan's Dream and Tara's Theme.
I guess it has to be Hogan's Dream - a beautiful melody played with lots of feel. |

That one's impossible to answer. It would have been easier had you asked which one is the least favourite.
However, There is something about Ride, Rode, Ride that really gets me. That song is so cleanly and speedily executed. I have to tell myself that it was around 1968 and it has the same clean speed picking as what we hear today. Also, I'm mad that i still haven't been able to master that one. Anybody else with the same problem?
What genius that man is. |

Farewell Party by Gene Watson
Oops. Misread the question. It's been years since I listened to any of my Lloyd Green records, but most all the songs on his "Mr. Nashville Sound" album are my faves. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . Out of all the great tracks he has recorded Midnight Silence is my choice, classic early Lloyd. |

I never heard anything of Lloyd's that I didn't like. But, I liked his POP oriented stuff best. "Morning Has Broken" is probably my favorite, next would be "I Can See Clearly Now". "Tara's Theme" as right up there toward the top of the list too. _________________ Darvin Willhoite
MSA Millennium, Legend, and Studio Pro, Reese's restored Universal Direction guitar, a restored MSA Classic SS, several amps, new and old, and a Kemper Powerhead that I am really liking. Also a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored Rose S10, named the "Blue Bird". Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also have a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks, and a showroom condition Sho-Bud Super Pro. |

Ditto's regarding Bar Hoppin'. Love it. It's awful hard to answer this one - so much great music. Like Darvin, I have always liked Morning Has Broken. "Almost Home" is a nice tune. _________________ Steeless. |

I don't know what record(s) but he did some wonderful authentic Hawaiian steel quite a while back. He's supposed to have a new CD coming out soon, actually a Peter Cooper CD that will be a duets thing; just Cooper playing guitar and singing and Lloyd. You'll really be able to hear everything. |

It's a difficult one. I would say all except for the Day for Decision album.
If I have to choose one it will be Three Picks. _________________ ----------------------------------

Looks like you all are including songs on which Lloyd backed up.
In that case, one of my favorites is "This is My Year for Mexico" by Crystal Gayle |

Lloyd's of Nashville get's my vote as the classiest steel guitar record album cover of all time. It matches the class of the player, and the music on the record too. My copy is safely stashed away). _________________ Steeless. |
