I have been cursed for years with two problems that I have posted on the forum and got a myriad of answers and suggestions of how to fix. I have also tried several guitar techs including the maker of my guitar with these same problems but nobody could come up with and make a correction up until now.

Problem #1 was a whining sitar sounding high E string that drove me crazy. I know many people have this problem and now I know that most likely it is an out-of-round finger. I have had professionals buff mine and even tried myself. I also tried every other method ever described on these threads for this problem.
Jerry had me hit the string every which way imaginable and then it happened….. I pushed the C pedal and the string rang clear. I hit it open again and it whined and buzzed. Jerry found the spot which happened to be on the back side of the finger that was out of round and sanded it down. I would have thought the problem to be the top or forward of center on the finger.

Problem #2 was my middle G# would go sharp with pedals down about every 3 songs and then go flat in a short while after that so I have constantly been tweeking it a quarter turn back and forth every ten minutes or so for years. Again, I tried every suggestion and had several people try to fix this including the maker but it has never been corrected.
Jerry found on my Kline that the return spring that was not even in use for that particular string was tightened all the way to the body and he had to actually take it semi apart to remove the locked screw and start from scratch. After checking everything else thoroughly he said “Let’s try this” “Stranger things have happened”. This problem is solved now too.

I am amazed at the experience and natural talent Jerry has for finding and fixing a problem that may be bugging a steel player. He also put in a Truetone pickup a couple of years ago that was not made to go into my guitar but he did it very professionally. I would like to thank him from my heart for lifting these two nagging problems I have had for years. I have played my steel several times today just to make sure I was not dreaming.

If you have any thing that bothers you with your steel don’t hesitate to email or give him a call. He is always on the forum helping someone out….
Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

p.s. He did all this with a bad wrist as well. He is going to the hospital real soon for another correction to his wrist. I think Jerry is a great musician as well.

Jerry has been a huge help to me - all the way over here in Australia.

he has sent me bits and bobs in the mail and has generously provided advice and ideas to help me out.

Thanks Jerry - you are a true gentleman and a "true blue mate"

(with apologies for the cheesy Australiana)

you know he sells Hilton and Magnum products, don't you all? - go to Jerry first, and get the best gear first time.
