Here are my new toys. Boy do I love to play with them.
SD 10 4/6 Rains now converted to Spirit Rains.
1971 Twin Reverb Blonde with 8 lb Emminence Speaker.
I can actually pick it up.
More sound than I've ever had. Groove Tubes. Love the warm tube sound. Can get old Fender sound when wanted.
What is your New Toy?

I know I should put a picture on here of my black MSA Millennium M3 with purple flames, but I don't have a good picture handy. But in lieu of that, here's my latest toy, a 1927 gold-plated Conn New Wonder alto sax, commonly called a "Chu Berry" model, after Cab Calloway's famous member who played a tenor version of this model. While later saxes had smoother action, most players consider the Conn Chu Berry and it's immediate successor the "Naked Lady" M series to have the greatest tone of any sax ever made. For blues on tenor, I actually prefer the action of the Chu Berry, because of the easy direct action of the split low B key (concert A). This rare alto has gold-platting that has kept the original finish in much better shape than the lacquer finishes of most saxes of this age. The finish and artwork are an art nouveau design - the body is frosted gold, and the polished bell has elaborate etching that is simply not done anymore. Can you imagine the hot action this baby saw in some big band of the roaring twenties?!  |

| Yeah, great looks and great tone are expensive, but worth every penny. That two-tone Rains and matching Twin 1x15 look mighty spiffy, and I'll bet they sound like a dream. Instruments like these make us strain to try and play well enough to be worthy of them. |

My toys are my two pedal steels-Emmons and GFI-aka "Redgold Beauty", Peavey Nashville 112 amplifier, Sacred Steel bar, Dunlop fingerpicks, National thumbpick, two pac-a-seats-Out West and Elite Seats, and a Morrell six string lapsteel.

| Mines' not real new, (within the last couple years), but it's a Rains sd10 going through RTP, mosvalve 500, and 2 Marrs cabnits with 1203-4s, tone tone tone. Now if i could just buy some good chops to go with it. |
