I'm a new member... I have a Showbud volume pedal. The string frayed to the point where it was causing a glitch in the swell. I need to know where to find the proper string to use (I tried some heavy fishing line, tortured myself for an hour or so, only to discover I'd put it on backwards, so the pedal works in reverse). I decided not to fool with it again until I get the right string. Any ideas?

Take the old string to your local hardware store & have them match it! |

Two things.
You can use fishing "leader line" This is a very small steel cable that is covered with plastic that goes between the hook and the actual fish line. You know for fish with sharp teeth. Many people who work on old radios with dial cords use the leader line.
If you want to use the volume pedal now, you can reverse the two outside connections to the pot and it will reverse the the pot, so you can use it as it is for now.

At Scotties website, under misc info, he shows how to restring a Goodrich pedal if thats any help to you. Dont worry, the first one you do takes forever to get right. |

I recently replaced a couple of pots and strings in my volume pedals and what I used seems to work pretty well. It does not have the plastic coating as Sho~Bud used but is a little heavier quality. If you can't find any out your way, I'll send you a length for a pedal replacement.

Don't ever throw away a bad mini-blind until you cut the pull cord off of it. It is woven and perfect for volume pedals.
