Hi Walter, Have you ever posted Lloyd's version
of "Coconut Grove"?
I was amazed back in the 1970s to hear this tune on WCCO AM Radio in Minneapolis. It's a major network station.

Hi Roger,
The soundclip of Lloyd's early version of the song is available on the website. The clip comes from the 1964 low budget album "Hawaiian Enchantment".

That is bound to be Buddy Emmons and Russ Hicks on steel guitars. |

Sounds like it could be "The Brazos Valley Boys" with Bobby Garret on steel???
It certainly has a Big Western Swing Band sound to it almost like a Spade Cooley arrangement. |

The clip comes from a group called "Stonehorse" and their album "A Tribute To Tulsa Music" - steel players are Dale Talbert and Rocky Caple.
