I was 53 and I liked the site very much. But something is stuck in the back of my mind about the name Fred Layman. It may have been with my years at Fretts/Fender but I can't bring it back. Can you help me here, Fred ??
Regards, Paul |

Paul, I was an avid reader of your column in the Fretts magazine back when there wasn't much being published for steel players. You may have run across my "Layman's Ledger" column in Tom Bradshaw's Steel Guitarist magazine or articles that I wrote for Steel Guitar World magazine and the Pedal Steel Guitar Newsletter. I also spend far too much time posting on this Forum. But I do look forward to meeting you personally some time, perhaps at St. Louis. |

I've known Fred for quite awhile and have had the chance to visit and talk with him in his workshop when we both lived in Kentucky. Half of buying a steel is the first vibe that you get from the owner/builder and I can say that when you deal with Fred it's a professional and quality relationship that will follow through to the service end of a purchase. Proud to know you Fred!!!!
John
