For the latest JCH registry, go to http://www.graboff.com/JCH_Registry.html
The earlier thread on JCH pedal steels got me thinking about trying to number, date and identify all the JCH guitars out there. I'll go first.
I have a final invoice for my D-10 from Jimmie Crawford dated November 14, 2001 with a nice easy to remember serial number 2500. Here again are some pictures I took when it was brand new.

Jon,
That is one beautiful guitar. Jimmy Crawford was a personal friend of mine. I was over at his shop a few times while that guitar was being built. Nick |

Hey fellas. Let's not get off topic here! I think the best tribute to Jimmie would be a record of all the guitars he built. And if it's true, as has been said in another thread, that there were between 150 and 160 JCHs made, it doesn't seem like an impossible task to compile an accurate list of the guitars and their present, loving owners! After all, most of the surviving instruments made by Antonio Stradivari are accounted for… and they were built over three hundred years ago! |

I have D-10 #1036. I bought it and fixed up on it mainly because I had owned a Sd-10 earlier and because there will be no more made. It had been treated a little rough, but fixed up pretty good, plays good, and sounds great. The Red SD-10 I once had went to Rex Blevins of Tulsa and then to the Netherlands. Dag Wolf knows where it is. |

It would at least be interesting to get an estimate of how many of the 100+ JCH owners are actually participants on the Forum. I am guessing 20. |

Ok… here's what we have so far. Any additional information, on the listed guitars would be greatly appreciated. As more steels are listed, we may be able to estimate the year of manufacture on those that were acquired second hand. So, keep 'em coming!
If you'd like to register but would like to do it in a less public forum or you are not a member of the forum, email me at jon@graboff.com.

Ive got a black #1054 8x7. I had Jimmie add 3 knees just months before he died. Its the best all pull guitar Ive heard. He told me he thought it was probably an early 90's model. There were 3 in his shop then either being built or repaired. One was another carbon mica SD-10 if I remember correctly.
I remember he had a clip board or folder with records of his guitars and their players on it and other info stashed away somewhere. When I asked info on my guitar he said he had the info around somewhere, so there are records of his guitars somewhere...
Buck Reid could probably help alot.

The D-10 I have is,I think Rosewood mica and best I can remember Mrs. Crawford told me it is around a 1990 model. The SD-10 I previously owned that is now in the Netherlands was red and I don't think I ever knew what year it was. |

Gerry Hogan has 2 I think. I got mine used, I was the 3rd owner and the first 2 didn't play steel so it wasn't even broke in when I got it. Pretty much a new guitar for about half the price.

I know of one in Heyworth,IL. The person bought it used from Bobbe Seymour, I guess 8 years ago. It's a d10, some kind of woodgrain finish, not rosewood. |

Sonny, I assume you bought it used. Do you remember who you bought it from?
If anyone has acquired a JCH used, tracing it back to the original owner would be cool but I will only post the names after getting permission to do so by those individuals.
