Ever wondered where is and who has the old eqipmetn you sold or traded here on this forum?
It's something like this...
WHERE'S YOUR OLD AXE?
(Just for the fun of it).
I traded my black mica Mullen RP D-10 W/ 8&7 for an Emmons pp to jack Goodson over three years ago.
Where is that beauty? Who has it?

There is a Blonde Sho-Bud Pro 1 out there floating around somewhere out west with a screw sticking up out of the finish near the rear apron. It was the very first steel I ever touched (Yr 2000). I wonder where it is now.
I orderd a new Sierra U12 Ebony Birdseye 8 & 6 back in 2001. I got it home and looked at it for 2 months, then sold it to a feller in Texas for a $800 loss. I would like to know what ever happen to it too.

I had a blonde round front sho~bud Pro1 with a Marrs conversion. I sold it on ebay about 8 or 10 years ago.
Wonder where it is. Wish I'd never sold it.

I had two push pulls i let get away,a black D10 ser#2754,traded to Dave Decker and a rosewood D10 ser#2457,sold to a guy around Austin,Tx. i think..
would love to have them back..

| I had a Sho Bud,I traded it to a music store in Pana, Il. It was a d10 but someone before me took the c6th neck off and put a pad on it. It was green (not LDG green), the Sho Bud emblem on front wasn't original. It should be floating around Il. |

| here's one i intend NOT to have to search for someday, but maybe someone else is,....i own Emmons #1319 which used to belong to a gentleman named Harold Fogle. Herb Steiner told me he used to play for Stonewall Jackson, among others. i sure won't be turning loose of it any time soon. it's a DANDY. |

I had a 3 neck Sho-Bud in the 60's when I played at The New Frontier in Waikiki. It had pedals on the 8 string E-9th and on the 10 string C-6th. The bottom neck was 8 string, no pedals.
The late Chris Crobough purchased it from me when I got my Sho-Bud, D-10 Finger-Tip. He sold it to a local Hawaiian fellow before he left the Islands and that's the last either of us heard of it.
I'd sure like to know if it's still being played or sitting in a closet somewhere.

I wouldn't mind being reunited with this axe, It was a Marrs 3 x 3 guitar that I disassembled and fitted a Sho~Bud 5 x 5 changer and mechanism to. Neck is an old rope inlay Sho~Bud painted black. It has Duanes keyhead, but I removed the Mini-Grovers and replaced them with Sperzel tuners. Pedals and rack are Super Pro. I took out the PF-1 and swapped it out with a Lawrence XR-16. Pedal setup I lifted from Duane (with his permission) after playing his guitar.
Mica covered cabinet is one of Duanes finer efforts, rock maple with grain straighter than the road to hell. Sustain out the wazoo!
I wish I had never sold this axe. Can't remember the guys name that bought it, only that he lived in the Louisville, KY area.

I know that must seem wierd to you but the guitar came in on trade at Bobbes store when I worked there and I traded him a D-10 that I had, for it and the Bud parts necessary to get it to 5x5 like I wanted.
I didn't want to mix parts so I even went to a Sho~Bud pedal rack wich Duane was kind enough to give me from his parts pile.
The guitar is a gem!

I'm sure it's a gem. I was making a humorus comment on the conversion in light of the trend to convert the older sho~buds to Marrs.

No offense taken, it was simply easier and quicker to do the job with the parts I had. The guitar was great just the way Duane built it but I wanted more out of it in the way of pedals and levers.
The Marrs is a fine guitar, and some of the finer Sho~Buds bear his name underneath as well. His genius and fine craftsmanship is present in both.

I'm forunate enough to have both. I have Ron Elliot's old Marrs you see on my avatar and recently picked up a near cherry 6139 that's being repaired at Jeff Surrat's place. It's a two hole puller with nylon tuners and I'm not changing a thing on it with the exception of a couple more levers.

White MSA classic from the 70s. Hope I never see that sucker again  My shoulder still remembers hauling that thing through the Nashville airport and I was a heckuva lot younger then.
