Can anyone tell me how to get BIAB to run on Win 98 or does someone have a copy for 98 they want to get rid of?

| Band in a Box is compatible with most any version of windows. All you gotta do is install it. |

I tried installing the demo and it said iwas missing a file called wmvcore.dll

I ran BIAB on a '98 laptop computer until about a year ago. I bought all of the updates as soon as they came out and didn't have any trouble until Real Drums came along. I didn't have nearly enough hard drive space for that. I finally broke down and upgraded. I now use XP PRO and a 3 GIG Laptop. I'm also using some recording software that would not run on '98.

Just how good is BIAB? I've heard about it, but since the one's here are using it. Is it a pretty good program?
What else is needed, besides the computer to run it? Guess I'm meaning for a realistic back ground sound.

I would say that BIAB is the best thing since pockets on a shirt. I don't know how I practiced without it. You can probably go out of the headphone jack on your computer to an amp with satisfactory results, someone who uses this method can tell you more about it. I use a Tascam USB interface for recording and playback, which requires a little different setup.
There are thousands of songs available for download, or you can arrange your own songs just by inputting the chord changes. Jim Baron, who is a Forumite, is a guru as well as a dealer for BIAB. He also has a disk of around 5000 songs available for sale. It is well worth the money.

To see just how good BIAB can be- get Russ Hick's CD- "Me, Myself, and I". It is my understanding that he did this with BIAB and it is terrific!. Forum member Jim Baron bigjim4b@sbcglobal.net is a Band In A Box distributor and has the latest version - 2008- and it is terrific.

| Have any of you BIAB users been able to anything different on the standard endings? Seem like they all like to end on the first beat of a measure. A lot of what I play has the typical last measure (1/5/1 rest)that I can't figure out how to change! |
