| If you wanted to be able to play a few E9 Classic Nashvile style licks, on a simple 8 String G6 PSG with a simple Pull Release Changer, with Just 3 Pedals and 1 Knee lever what would you choose as pulls ? |

Fred, not knowing what the string sequence would be, you'd have to have one floor pedal to raise the 5ths a whole tone, in G that would be raising the D notes to E. Another pedal to raise the 3rds a half tone which in a G tuning would be raising the B string(s) to C. Also you should have a dominant 7th which you could get either on the floor or knee lever by raising the 6th (E note) to F. Also you could try a knee lever to lower the roots (G) a half tone to F#...........JH in Va.

My first choice would be to probably have P1 raise G to G#, P2 raise G->A, P3 E->F, and KL lower G-> F#. That would give you the equivalent of D,E, A, and B changes. But then again, I'm not sure that's even possible on a P/R changer. Else, I'd go with what Jerry said- he's definitely more knowledgeable than me.

Where did you find a pull-release S-8 with 3+1? Sounds cool!

Hi, everyone,
Thanks for all your input. I believe I have sorted it out.
I have a Fender/Sho Bud S10 with 3+1 that I have been useing as an 8 string without pedals. I have it tuned to "G Hexatonic".
Hi to Low = f# d b G E D C B.
It is very close to G6, sort of like D9 with the A+B pedals down, only my 1st string is tuned down 1/2 step, to f#. The G Hexatonic is really a very fun tuning for non pedal playing, and I have a much better understanding of A+B pedals down playing. As much as I really like this tuning, there are a few times when having a pedal or two would avoid some large position jumps, and I also thought that maybe I could still do some Nashville stuff without retuning.
After trying lots of configurations I have decided it makes more sense to tune it to D9, and pull from here into G Hexatonic.
**** I have decided to use my C pedal as my G Hexatonic pedal, pulling my 3rd string(++, a to b ) and 4th string(+, F# to G). I am going to put my 2nd string (++, d to e ) on a knee lever, for the Mooney stuff, and for use in combo with my A+B for the IIm change.
