This is that great old Clyde McCoy tune - but instead of a trumpet and a mute, it's Herb Remington on Steel Guitar and a wah-wah pedal.

I remember that one. I was only about ten years old visiting my sister in Indiana and she had a 78rpm that had a picture on it instead of the usual black vinyl. It was Clyde McCoy with Sugar Blues on one side and Basin St. Blues on the other. I knew then that I wanted to make music. Still trying sixty years later and having fun doing it.

That's pretty cool Jude - I imagine that record would be worth a few bucks now.
I know what you mean, I was just a little kid when I first heard it - and it made a big impression on me too.
Roy, he's amazing. When you start listening to all the stuff he has recorded over the last 60+ years, it makes you realize what a great musical journey he's been on.
And he's still going strong (although he and Mel both have the flu really bad right now). 
Billy, I haven't heard that version. I'd sure like to . .

Lot's of kids in the 60s did not know what the reference to Clyde McCoy was in the promo that came with those new fangled wah wah pedals!
I played trumpet so I knew who he was. |

I'm glad you all are enjoying it. This album is full of wonderful tunes.
Herb used the wah wah in several of them, best use of it I've heard.
