Announcement about Louisville Metro Steel Guitar Club

Beginning 2008 is a good starting time, before the January 20th meeting
Today is the day the new and first Club Web Site is on line as of 12 noon EST

The URL is www.LouisvilleSteelGuitar.com

Try to make the Sunday Jan 20th meeting at Russell's Shed on highway 44W just outside the gleaming metropolis of Shepherdsville, KY

The Club Christmas get together was Great

I'm sure Eli will have more to post about this meeting.

I will be working throughout the upcoming year on expanding the Web Site and making it more useful and informative.
Please feel free to contact Bob, Eli, or myself with your ideas, comments, and suggestions and yes even criticism for the Louisville Metro Steel Guitar Club .com Website so that we can all work together to move this great steel guitar club forward

Please visit the web site often to see updates

As Webmaster for the Club, I have some basic goals & responsibilities: To accomplish these goals, I will need the assistance of all of the members, and I thank you in advance for your help.

Musically, Danny Hammers

Danny,
Good job on designing and implementing the Louisville club's web site. I lived in Louisville 15 years, most of the time on WAVE TV and radio. Clyde Coffey, one of the founders of the club, is a very dear friend of mine. At the time I was there (about 1948 - 1963) if I remember correctly, he and I and guy on the other station (WHAS) were the only professional steelers in Louisville. I often see Clyde at the St. Louis convention.

See you next Tuesday at the Manasota steel guitar jam, Danny.

Best wishes to the guys in the Louisville club.

Thanks all
I'm glad everyone likes the web site, it was a labor of love on my part.

Jaynette Your Mom & Dad are two of the nices people and two of Patricia and I best friends. So it makes the hole thing worth it to me, that they like the site.

Roy, The other steeler on WHAS in Louisville was Shorty Chesser he lived out in Pleasure Ridge Park, KY. I knew him, I think he pasted away last year.
I talk with Clyde this afternoon, and I told him about your post

See you next Tuesday at the Manasota steel guitar jam

Danny

Wow Roy!
Are you ever stirring up old memories.

I knew Shorty, and a lot of the guys on WHAS, like Randy Atcher, Tiny Tamale, Bernie Smith. all of which have passed.

And at WAVE, Red and Gene Stewart, and Charley Wiggonton, My Cousin Larry was a cameraman at WAVE so I was hanging around there a lot. and at Durloff Music in Louisville

Still adding links and pictures to www.LouisvilleSteelGuitar.com

See you Tuesday night
Danny

Danny I had the pleasure to play lead guitar for Randy Atcher. I think that was one of my Dad's proudest moments for me when I played for his childhood hero. I must say he was the perfect, kindest, and dearest of all human beings. A true legend. It's time for T-Bar-V Ranch

My son Dave also played guitar for Randy on T Bar V

The hole family where all find human beings as you say, but I knew his brother Francs the best, a real great guy.
