For a nice write up on the JD series check out this link:

This guitar will make someone a fine player, and the blue finish looks great on stage.
It plays and sounds great, but cosmetically it's not perfect. The factory 5-way switching has been replaced with a 3-way switch and some moron scratched off the 'Made in Japan' on the heel of the neck (visible in the photo).
I was asking $500, but I will take $450 shipped in the CONUS. Paypal is okay on this one.

One of the best things about the JD model was the pickups used and the 5 position switch that offered some very unique pickup combinations that were totally different than any standard 5 way Fender switching. Too bad that the wiring has been changed out in this guitar.
Are these the original pickups that came in it? |

I agree, Bill.
I didn't do the work, but as far as I can tell the pickups are original aside from a changed cover on the neck pickup.
The previous owner did tell me that at the time the wiring was changed, extra shielding was added. |

I really liked the neck pickup on the one that I had, great looking guitars, the one I owned had a huge neck, baseball bat!
FWIW if anyone needs it I have a wiring diagram for the JD Tele, email me and I'll send it to you. |

I forgot to mention that I will consider trades for other electric guitars, especially other Teles. I can sweeten the deal with cash for the right guitar.
I'm looking for something with a slightly less chunky neck, which is my only reason for getting rid of this one. |

Ryan,
You may already be aware of this but if you don't have any luck here you might want to give this Tele site a shot...

Ryan, would you consider a trade for a G&L (American made) model L-2000 bass guitar with the factory hardshell case? It's blue like your tele and has a maple neck. I'll post a picture or two
if I can get my camera to work. It also has active electronics........JH in Va. _________________ Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!! |
