There was an interesting post a while back on band pictures. I thought it would be interesting to hear all the different band names on the Forum....if you have a logo, that would be cool, too. Mine is Blue Moon Highway.

Over the last 15-20 years:
The AAA Blues Band - duh, blues.
The Jumpin' Mudcats - blues.
Red Apple Juice - acoustic country and bluegrass.
Mike Swavely and the Chrome Magnatones - rockabilly and some old hillbilly music.
The Four Horsemen of the Oppossum Lips - surf-style instrumental rock, punkabilly, and anything else we felt like doing.
Big Mo and the Mezcaleros - roots rock.
Kris Kehr and the Stone Poets - Americana.
The RailLiners - Americana.
The Rustlanders - Americana, roots rock.
The jazz people I have played with generally just used their own names. Image means nothing to them. Imagine that.  |

Thanks Stu. My oldest son Michael did it. It was my initial idea to have an old station wagon with a big full moon behind it. He took it further...there now is the Portland skyline on the left and Mt. Hood on the right. He did the website, as well. He's a Forum member, too. Thanks again.

Jim, I hate to say it, but some of those bands were in a period where I had 4 going at once, plus some jazz occasionals. Just tryin' to make a living' through those periods.
Actually, 3 of those bands still play actively. I'm still an active member of one of them, and play with another from time to time, when my schedule allows. The average band length was about 4-5 years with a standard deviation of about 3. A few 1-2 years, a few 4-5 years, a few 8-11 years. With popular music, some concepts just don't last too long. Not to mention musician instability - and no, I'm not talkin' about me!  |

When I lived in the U.K, I played with a band called
Frank Yonco and the everglades...We had pin on badges
that that we gave out somtimes that said
"I'v been laid by an everglade"
Done a few gigs with a Bluegrass baned called
"The phesent pluckers"
I have freinds that had a Duo for years called
"Preparation H" not many people in Cornwall,U.K
knows what that is. |
