This lick is so much easier than it sounds. You can do it with a LOT of VERY short 5 minutes practice sassions spread over a few weeks. I agonized over how to include the fingering for it. It's all pick blocking but I seem to play it a different way every time. Sometimes it's Thumb, Index , sometimes Thumb, Middle and occasionally I start it with Thumb, Index, Middle then finish with just Thumb and one finger. The thing that makes this one easier than you think is the repeated picking pattern and all the pedal action. Every single pedal push or release is a note that doesn't have to be picked and that time period of pushing the pedal gives your fingers time to get ready for the next note that needs to be picked. Note how similar the pattern is at the 13th, 11th, 10th and 8th frets. Start real slow and get the pattern down, then play this for a few minutes 4 or 5 times a day and it will become second nature.

Now we're talking, but I haven't got the last one down yet. This stuff ought to keep me out of trouble and off the streets over the holidays. Thanks, Greg. You and yours have a wonderful Christmas. DS Very Happy

This exercise Greg is pure solid gold ...I have been working on the ones in your speed picking section and pretty well have them but if ya have any good speed picking ascending runs that would be great. I have been trying to apply them to some bluegrass songs...I thank you a million for all your help with all of your material you have shared. God Bless and a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM OUR HOUSE TO YOURS.
