Dave, i've had both and the only difference i could tell is the Legrande 2 has 14 hole bell cranks and a
decal on the front apron that reads "II". The Lashley i owned had 4 hole bell cranks.--Skip |

My '93 Lashley Legrande has 14 hole bell cranks. I think there was a transition period when they went from 4 hole to 14 hole bell cranks.

The SKH LeGrandes with four hole bellcranks were first, starting in the late '70's. The Lashley LeGrandes had the longer key head and open changer, originally used four hole bellcranks, the later ones may have had fourteen hole bellcranks. The LeGrande II's were equipped with fourteen hole bellcranks. Regards, Jay Thompson |

Dale is exactly right--mine too, from October 1993. No "II" on my decal, but 14-hole bellcranks. Also, Bobbe Seymour told me once that the original LeGrande had a shorter keyhead, and that he preferred the LeGrande II over the original. Perhaps he can elaborate. _________________ HagFan

Ron,
Don't you know, as a used car salesman it depends who Bobbe' is speaking with at the moment. Regards, Jay Thompson

Quite a family you have there Jay. I shall use the pic as evidence that I need more steel guitars. I noticed the early sticker says "LeGrande". My II has a decal that says "Lashley LeGrande" without the II. So it seems thsat the marketing of the Lashley LeGrande brand was in a bit of transition in the early 90's.
Careful what you say about Bobbe. He's pretty thin-skinned ya know. _________________ HagFan

Jay, Nice guitars especially the red laquered one. I think I have your black SKHs' red headed sister. Dale |

Dale & Ron, Unfortunately, the red Push/Pull now resides in Taylor, Texas with Justin Griffith. It does have that sound. Regards Jay Thompson |
